Peugeot Philippines has revealed the new 2008 ahead of the 2022 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). The 2008 expands Peugeot’s model lineup in the Philippines.

Peugeot 2008

The Peugeot 2008 is the French marque’s entry into the subcompact crossover segment. It is part of the company’s relaunch under a new Spanish distributor named Astara. So far, the new distributor managed to post an 89 percent year-over-year increase in sales for the first quarter of 2022.

“We continue to make progress with our plans since relaunching the brand in January, and this momentum is being driven by our lineup of global Peugeot vehicles that is allowing us to become a premium auto brand of choice for Filipinos,” said Peugeot Philippines Managing Director Raoul Picello.

It comes with a distinctive rear end

With the 2008, Peugeot Philippines now has a more ideal vehicle choice for car buyers that are in the market for a premium crossover. It comes with a sporty-looking exterior design that features the signature three-claw LED lightning system, fang-like daytime running lights (DRLs), 17-inch black onyx and diamond-cut wheels, and a straight grille.

A driver-centric cockpit layout can be found inside, with a floating-type 7-inch infotainment touchscreen sitting on the center console. Safety-wise, the French subcompact crossover gets six SRS airbags, Visiopark 1180-degree rearview camera, Active Lane Keep Assist, ABS with EBD, and front and rear parking sensors, among others.

Inside the Peugeot 2008

Powering the 2008 is a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged PureTech gasoline engine good for 130 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque. It sends power to the front wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission.

“The new Peugeot 2008 completes our SUV lineup for the Philippines alongside the new Peugeot 5008 and new Peugeot 3008. All three SUVs give Filipinos access to the unmatched experience that our Peugeot global SUVs offer, in three size options that meet the varying needs and lifestyles of our customers,” said Peugeot Philippines Brand Head Maricar Parco.

The Peugeot 2008 is a subcompact crossover

Peugeot Philippines is offering the new 2008 at Php 1,550,000. It is available in four colors, namely Amazonite Grey, Pearl White, Nera Black, and model-exclusive Fusion Orange. Interested individuals can see the subcompact crossover in metal at the 2022 MIAS alongside other Peugeot models including the new 3008, Traveler Premium, and 5008. The 2022 MIAS will be from April 7 to 10 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
