Peugeot PH expands lineup with 2022 Traveller seven-seater MPV

Peugeot Philippines’ new distributor, Astara, has been working wonders for the French marque since the start of the year. It managed to introduce the latest iterations of the Peugeot 3008 and 5008 which are ideal for those who want to drive around town in comfort and style.

Now, the company is growing its lineup with the launching of the 2022 Traveller Premium. It is a 7-seater MPV that aims to bring more Filipino families into the brand, offering a premium design, spacious cabin, and a host of safety features.

“Our expanding lineup helps to position Peugeot as a brand of choice for discerning Filipinos looking for premium European vehicles that promise a new mode of modern and stylish travel,” said Peugeot Philippines Brand Head Maricar Parco.

An MPV that comes with premium styling

The new Peugeot Traveller Premium features a trapezoidal chrome grille with the lion embedded in the center. It is flanked by Xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights (DRLs) to complete the front fascia. Meanwhile, the 7-seater MPV’s side profile hosts sharp character lines and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Interior

Inside, the body has been extended, translating to more space for the comfort of passengers. It also allows more cargo to be hauled which is a key factor for Filipino families. A 2-2-3 configuration for the leather seats is installed into the cabin, with the second-row passengers benefiting from captain chairs.

Integrated into the center console is a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen with MirrorLink for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functions. Other interior amenities include power sliding doors, LED mood lighting, automatic air conditioning with air vents, a panoramic glass roof, sunshade curtains, 12-volt sockets, and a USB port.

In terms of safety, the Peugeot Traveller Premium comes with programmable cruise control with speed limiter, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program, hill climb assist, driver attention alert, and blind-spot assist. It also features a 180-degree rear camera and rear sensors so drivers can park the MPV easier.

Engine

Under the hood is a 2.0-liter BlueHDi (diesel) turbo engine good for 150 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque. It sends power exclusively to the front wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Price

Peugeot Philippines is offering the new Traveller Premium at Php 3,100,000. Interested individuals can check out the 7-seater MPV at the Peugeot stand at the upcoming Manila International Auto Show.

Peugeot Traveler

The Peugeot Traveller is a front-wheel-drive MPV. For the Philippine market, its variants is the Traveller Premium seven-seater, and the Premium eight-seater. The former is priced at Php 3,325,000, while the eight-seater is priced at Php 3,215,000.

Under the hood, the Traveller for the Philippine market uses a 2.0-liter BlueHDi diesel engine. This four-banger can make up to 150 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque. The said engine is then paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox.

Peugeot Traveller Launch

The Peugeot Traveller Premium was brought into the Philippines market in 2022. As a whole though, the model has been around since 2016 and it is sold under many different brand names around the globe. 

Peugeot Traveller Exterior

As a premium MPV, the Peugeot Traveller offers ease of access to its occupants. Key exterior feature pertaining to accessibility includes a rear access window to the boot, as well as foot-activated electric sliding doors.  

Other features include a chrome-plated surround grille, Xenon headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, a panoramic sunroof, and a set of 17-inch alloy wheels.

The Traveller can comfortably seat up to seven occupants including the driver. All of its seats are clad in Claudia Leather, and the second and third rows can also be removed for extra space.

For entertainment, the Traveller is equipped with a seven-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity.  

Safety is then handled by anti-lock braking with electronic brake-force distribution, electronic stability control, hill-climb assist, diver attention alert, front and rear parking sensors, a 180-degree rear view parking camera, blind-spot detection, and tire pressure monitoring, among others. It also gets a total of four airbags. 

Platform & Chassis

The Peugeot Traveller is classed as an MPV, and it uses a transverse front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout.  

For its front end, it uses a pseudo-MacPherson strut. The rear then gets a torsion beam axle suspension. Disc brakes then handle braking for all four wheels, as well as a manual, hand-operated parking brake.
