Omoda, Jaecoo holds first-ever dealer investment conference

The two brands managed to draw the interest of 10 dealer groups. 

Two of the newest car brands in the Philippines, Omoda and Jaecoo, have held their first-ever bank preview and dealer investment conference.

In attendance during the event were a total of 15 banking entities, and 34 principals from various dealer groups operating across the country. Likewise present was Chery International General Manager for Eastern Europe and Asia Pacific Jeff Liu. 

During the conference, the two car brands managed to draw 10 dealers who were interested in partnering up. This includes Albert Go Group, AngCore Group, AutoHub, AutoIcon, AVB Motorhub, Berjaya Group, Bonifacio Motors, Evolve Group, GR8 Motors, and Image Cars. All of the entities listed above have already signed their respective letters of intent (LOI) with Omoda and Jaecoo. 

To make the event even more special, a test drive experience was likewise prepared for the brand’s guests. They got to drive the Omoda 5, and thus get to try out its array of on-board safety and convenience features. 

For those curious, the Omoda 5 comes with two different powertrains. Two variants get an internal combustion engine (ICE), specifically a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline mill. Two full-electric versions meanwhile, get a permanent magnet synchronous motor. 

At the maximum, the ICE variants of the Omoda 5 can generate up to 144 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to its front wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

The Omoda 5 EV meanwhile, is a much peppier machine that can churn out 201 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. The entry-level EV version offers 300 km on a single charge, while the Extended Range version boasts 450 Km of range. 

With regards to the dealer investment conference, Omoda and Jaecoo Country Director Marco Chen said: “We are very excited that we are now finally able to show the actual car to our Bank and Dealer partners, and that we have given them the chance to try the car for themselves. But we are even more excited that our future partners think that our brand is very promising, with 10 Dealers Groups immediately expressing their interest to join us.” 

Besides welcoming potential dealer partners and the test drive, the brands also updated the VIPs in attendance with its planned official launch timing. No exact dates were provided just yet, but it was shared that the two will formally debut for the Philippine market in the first half of 2024. The teams that are spearheading the car brands were likewise introduced during the event.
