The crossover will be boasting a total of seven AWD drive modes.

Jaecoo is looking to enter the Philippines with the Jaecoo 7 next year, and one of the most highlighted features Filipino car buyers can look forward to is the compact crossover's all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. This would enable future owners to go on light off-roading with ease.

With that being said, the Jaecoo 7 will go up against the likes of the Subaru Forester and Honda CR-V in the compact crossover category with an AWD system. How will the Chinese crossover fare against its future segment rivals?

The Jaecoo 7 will be boasting seven AWD drive modes under its ARDIS all-road intelligent off-roading system. The drive modes include urban, desert, mountainous, water-crossing, muddy, and others. These would allow the vehicle to adapt to various road conditions, giving drivers more confidence on off-road trips.

The AWD system was taken to an endurance test in China where the Jaecoo 7 already clocked over 16,000 km under extreme heat. The vehicle displayed its off-road prowess by conquering the Gobi Desert in its homeland.

Complementing the AWD system are features such as a 21-degree approach angle, a 29-degree departure angle, 200mm of ground clearance, and 600mm of water wading. The model is also equipped with a 540-degree camera to help drivers see the surroundings better. Other features include a 14.8-inch sky screen, a 10.25-inch all-LCD dashboard, Sony speakers, and a heads-up display.

Propelling the vehicle is a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine capable of delivering 197 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque. The power unit is connected to a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (DCT), offering both two-wheel and all-wheel drive options.

The Jaecoo 7 is set to make its Philippine debut in early 2024. Jaecoo will be arriving alongside Omoda as the O&J brand. Omoda will also bring another entry into the compact crossover market with the Omoda 5, which will be coming with an all-electric powertrain.
