The O&J Brand is set to cater to Filipino car buyers.

Ahead of Omoda and Jaecoo’s arrival in the country, the O&J Brand has made its global debut at a launch conference held in Wuhu, China.

The O&J Brand is now out

Omoda brought out its first-ever electric vehicle (EV), the Omoda 5 EV, at the launch conference. It is the brand’s answer to the growing EV market globally, coming with a similar design as the non-EV Omoda 5 minus the diamond matrix grille.

Meanwhile, Jaecoo is officially entering the automotive market with its first-ever model, the Jaecoo 7. This vehicle sports a design of a rugged-looking SUV ready to hit off-roads. That’s because Jaecoo has been positioned as a brand that is committed to delivering urban off-road SUV models.

The Jaecoo 7 features straightforward and boxy design cues from the front to the back. Both the headlights and taillights have a straight-cut finish, while the grille has multiple vertical slats. Even the wheels have straight spokes but are slightly angled to add flair.

Together, the young O&J Brand is targeting to reach global sales of as much as 1,400,000 units by 2030. Omoda is off to a good start as it managed to sell 13,000 units in the first quarter of this year in regions where it was first launched including Mexico, Israel, and Kuwait.

In addition, the launch conference saw the unveiling of the brand’s new energy technology, which is said to “provide the ‘optimal solutions’ for users to practice environmental protection, low-carbon, and green travel.”

Locally, Omoda Philippines announced earlier this year that it will bring the Omoda 5 as its first product offering for Filipinos. Aiming to appeal to young car buyers, the Omoda 5 has a sporty design on the outside, while the interior gets more of a premium appeal.

The O&J Brand promises to enter the Philippine market before the year ends. It is looking to open eight showrooms in the country’s key cities this year, with plans to further expand in 2024.
