Jaecoo will officially launch its operations alongside its sister car brand, Omoda. While we may already know that Omoda will aim to attract young car buyers with modern-looking cars, Jaecoo will focus on offering off-road-oriented vehicles to Filipinos instead.

The first production vehicle of the Chinese car brand is the Jaecoo 7. No official specifications have been released just yet. But looking at the teaser photos, the Jaecoo 7 sports a boxy SUV appearance with sleek LED headlights that have unique patterns.

Not a lot of details can be spotted as the vehicle is covered in heavy camouflage with a luxurious-looking theme in gold. Even the massive set of wheels comes with gold accents, along with the letter “J” on the hub.

To see what the model looks like, the Jaecoo 7 is slated to be unveiled at Auto Shanghai. The Omoda 5 is joining the Jaecoo 7 at the said auto show happening until April 27, 2023 in Shanghai, China.

Speaking of the Omoda 5, the announcement of the Jaecoo’s arrival locally reveals that the compact crossover will be available in two engine options. One is a turbocharged mill, while the other uses an all-electric powertrain.

Omoda and Jaecoo Philippines have already envisioned a joint showroom, offering two distinct vehicle types. The brands are targeting to open eight showrooms in the country’s key cities by 2023, with plans to further expand the following year.

This news shows that the number of Chinese car brands in the Philippines is continuously increasing. As a review, Great Wall Motor and Jetour are among the new Chinese car brands in the local market. The said car brands even participated in the recently concluded 2023 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).
