Omoda Global has released a sci-fi-themed short video showcasing the Omoda 5 electric vehicle (EV). It shows a 3D model of the crossover traveling through a futuristic landscape and eventually out into the snowy wilderness.
Omoda 5 EV E-Future Ranger
According to the China-based carmaker, it produced this video as a way to connect to younger generations, particularly “Generation Z.” Furthermore, it represents the brand’s willingness to embrace futuristic designs, advanced technologies, and new cutting-edge mobility solutions, among others.
The brand added further that the aforementioned video is a part of its “O Universe” initiative which was introduced back in 2023 as an ecosystem for its clients. It will offer exclusive perks to Omoda car owners such as access to VIP clubs and social events, the chance to join corporate social responsibility activities, discounts on fashion and sporting brands, and more.
This likewise ties into Omoda’s vision where vehicles go beyond the scope of a form of mobility. Instead, cars like the Omoda 5 may also be “embodiments of personal expression, lifestyle attitudes, and cultural layers.”
The Omoda 5 EV
In the ending parts of the video, it was indicated that the brand is also launching something dubbed the “E-Future Ranger.” No further details on this were provided, but in other markets like Indonesia, this refers to young achievers who have been recognized by the brand as “guardians of the future through sustainable technology” - a quality, that Omoda says, is embodied by its upcoming EV crossover.
As for the star of the fancy sci-fi short video, the Omoda 5 EV, the brand already made it clear that it is coming to the Philippine market. No pricing details were revealed just yet, but it is coming with a 1.5-liter turbo internal combustion variant and two EV trims.
At the most, the top-spec EV trim offers a range of up to 450 km. It can also make up to 201 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. The brand also says that it is equipped with a Qualcomm processing chip for its 24.6-inch dual-screen infotainment system, as well as a total of 19 advanced intelligent driving assistance functions.
It boasts up to 450 km of range.
With regards to its launch date, Omoda might roll out the Omoda 5 at the upcoming 2024 Manila International Auto Show. This will coincide with Omoda’s Philippine brand launch together with its sister brand Jaecoo.
