Omoda has exported more than 12,000 cars in November 2023

Omoda reports that its global exports for the entirety of November 2023 have reached 12,148 units. The brand also shared that its cumulative year-to-date sales now sit at 134,078 units. According to Omoda, this is a sign that despite being a fledgling brand, it is experiencing positive growth.

While its Omoda 5 crossover is yet to be launched in the Philippines, its growing sales figures might be a sign that it is already gaining traction worldwide. Its November 2023 sales figures also follow up on its equally successful October 2023 performance which saw a total export of 12,842 units.  

In other markets, the crossover model has gained some recognition as well. In Malaysia, the Omoda model also received the “Best Mid-size Crossover/SUV” award from the Star Media Group. The brand likewise held test drive events in South Africa, as well as an official launch event in Chile. 

The Omoda 5 was also shortlisted for the World Women’s Car of the Year (WWCOTY) awards. This earns the model some recognition from the WWCOTY’s authoritative panel of judges that are comprised of women motoring journalists from across 43 countries. 

So when will the Omoda 5 launch in the Philippines? Well, the brand says that this will be happening soon but no exact dates were shared. Previously, however, Omoda and Jaecoo already held their first-ever dealership investment conference where they were able to secure the interest of 10 car distribution companies. 

First batch of Omoda 5 units are already in the Philippines

Omoda and Jaecoo have also brought in Unibank and BDO as their official bank partners. Back in October 2023, it was also reported that the first batch of Omoda 5 crossovers had already made their way to the Philippines. 

For those unfamiliar with the Omoda 5, it is a compact crossover with both an internal combustion engine variant and a fully electric variant. 

The specs for the Philippine market version are yet to be disclosed, but in other markets, the ICE version uses a 1.5-liter mill that can output 144 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque. The EV version meanwhile, can output 201 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. It also has a range of around 300 kilometers.
