Toll fee from Metro Manila to Mabacalat, Pampanga will increase by Php 9 (Class 1).

Toll fees at the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) will go up starting November 25 due to the completion of the 2.6-kilometer NLEX Harbor Link

The Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) approved a toll rate adjustment of Php 4 in the open system and Php 0.06 per kilometer in the closed system. The increase will take effect at 12:01 a.m. on November 25, 2020.

The open system, where a flat rate is charged upon entry to the expressway, covers Quezon City, Caloocan City, Venezuela City, Malabon City, Navotas City, Meycauayan City, and Marilao, Bulacan.

As such, motorists traversing the open system onboard a Class 1 vehicle (regular cars and SUVs) will need to pay an additional Php 4. Meanwhile, Class 2 (buses and small trucks) and Class 3 vehicles will be charged an addition of Php 10 and Php 11, respectively.

On the other hand, the closed system starts at Bocaue, Bulacan up to the Sta. Ines interchange in Mabalacat, Pampanga. As mentioned earlier, an adjustment of Php 0.06 per kilometer will be implemented in the closed system starting November 25. With that, the toll rate for end-to-end travel from Metro Manila to Mabalacat, Pampanga will increase by Php 9 (Class 1), Php 20 (Class 2), and Php 25 (Class 3).

TRB explained that the said NLEX toll adjustment should have been implemented much earlier. However, the increase in toll fees has been deferred in consideration of the adverse economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. To know more about the NLEX toll matrix, click here

NLEX Harbor Link

The NLEX Harbor Link was officially opened by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) last June 15, 2020. It is an elevated expressway that shortens the travel time from the Manila Port to NLEX to just ten minutes. The NLEX Harbor Link also helps lessen the travel time between Manila and Quezon City to around 15 to 20 minutes.

NLEX said that an average of 30,100 vehicles per day currently use the new route and enjoy the improved commuting time provided by the Harbor Link.
