Nissan Philippines is inviting you to witness the official launch of the LEAF electric vehicle (EV) in the country. The event will take place virtually due to the ongoing health crisis and will be held on May 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. on the car brand’s official Youtube channel.
Nissan is also inviting you to confirm your attendance at the EV’s local launch via its official Facebook page. The introduction of the Nissan LEAF will signify the Japanese car brand’s commitment to providing innovative and sustainable mobility.
Don't miss it
The Nissan LEAF was first launched in 2010, but is only making its way officially in the Philippines this year. It is considered one of the popular EVs in the global automotive market, a claim backed by its total production number that reached 500,000 just last year.
In the Japanese market, the Nissan LEAF is available in two battery options, namely the 40 kWh and 62 kWh. The 40 kWh drivetrain option offers a 322-km range, while the 62 kWh option boasts a 458-km range. It can produce up to 148 hp and 320 Nm of torque which should be more than enough for daily city driving.
EVs will be more known to Filipinos
As of this writing, Nissan Philippines hasn’t shared the full specs of its upcoming EV vehicle. We can expect more in-depth details to drop once the model is officially launched in the local market. You can now set a reminder on Nissan Philippines’ launch event on Youtube.
It will be exciting to see how the country will adjust to the inevitable EV generation especially now that the introduction of the Nissan LEAF in the Philippines is finally happening. We should see more of the effects of House Bill 4075 (or Electric Vehicles and Charging Station Acts) that aims to provide a national energy policy including EV charging stations.
