By now, it is an open secret that an all-new version of the Toyota Vios is just around the corner. While the Japanese marque hasn’t put out an official word regarding the matter, many try to give a go at what they think the next-gen model will look like.

One of them is Imagino which posted its render images of the 2023 Toyota Vios on its YouTube channel. Imagino rolled out renders that share a bit of similarity to the outgoing model, with some changes that add a sportier finish from the front to the back.
The front end is unmistakably a Vios. But it gets a redesigned grille that now has a mesh-type structure. This makes the model look at par with its GR-S version which comes with the said grille design type. Moreover, the sharper headlight layout gives the face a more aggressive appeal.
On the sides, the render appears to show more subtle-looking character lines as compared to the current model. It also gets a similar wheel design as the ones on the PH-spec model’s XLE and E variants. And at the back, a blacked-out rear bumper with mesh accents and a diffuser is featured, adding sporty touches.
In our previous report, the upcoming Vios will likely use the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA), a platform that aims to improve the ride comfort of compact city cars. If true, the sedan will join Avanza and Raize in the DNGA family. As for the powertrain, the model could be offered with a 1.2-liter naturally-aspirated mill or a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with hybrid technology.
Toyota is expected to launch the next-gen Vios in the third quarter of 2023. The next-gen subcompact sedan will likely make its debut in the Land of Smiles after it was presumably spotted on Thai roads last month.
