If you’re a big Ford Mustang fan, then you’ll have seen the several spy shots and numerous rumors focusing on this sports car. The latest bit of news on this is that the new factory for this upcoming generation of the famous pony car is being tooled to produce a manual version.
The sneaky teaser hinting at a manual next-gen Mustang
This was hinted at by one of the Ford factory expansion materials. These indicate that the seventh-generation Mustang will be built at the Flat Rock Assembly plant in Michigan. On one of the slides, the “O” in the word ‘generation’ was showing a six-speed manual shift pattern. Without a doubt, a number of driving enthusiasts looking forward to the next Mustang will take delight in this bit of news.
Other rumors surrounding the upcoming Ford Mustang indicate that it will be launched sometime in the second quarter of 2023 as a 2024 model, although an exact date is yet to be given. So, if we connect the dots, the Philippine market may either get the new Mustang sometime in the end of 2023 the soonest.
Furthermore, the next-gen Mustang will continue to come with either the four-cylinder EcoBoost engine or the familiar V8 engine, both available on the current model. However, there are some reports stating that Ford’s muscle car is getting a hybrid engine. Again, no specifics on that yet.
The currently available Ford Mustang GT500
Going back to the bit about the new factories, it also looks like the U.S. is also getting the all-new T6-based Ford Ranger. You know, the one that we got to test in the roads and forests of Thailand.
And yes, those waiting for this new truck might not have to wait for too long since it was reported that it is coming to our shores in the middle of 2022. So going by that information, the local Ranger launch might happen this June, or July.
Ford Philippines is tight-lipped about the next-gen truck’s exact arrival date as usual, so keep it here on Philkotse for more updates on that.
