Honda is set to debut the next-generation HR-V on February 18, 2021 featuring an all-new design as well as the brand’s hybrid powertrain dubbed as e:HEV. As a preparation for its upcoming global reveal, Honda released a couple of teaser images of the all-new HR-V.

Before we go into it, Honda said that the all-new HR-V will come standard with its e:HEV hybrid powertrain technology. The Japanese automaker said that the e:HEV combines “high efficiency with refined, fun-to-drive performance.”
Honda’s all-new crossover is also part of the company’s ‘Electric Vision’ strategy, which aims to make all its mainstream models in Europe electrified by 2022. Well, this move makes sense since European countries are determined to ban fossil fuel cars, and favors the shift to electric vehicles (EV).
In fact, Norway is banning internal combustion engine vehicles by 2025. With that in mind, the all-new HR-V is the latest model in Honda’s lineup to feature the e:HEV powertrain, joining the CR-V and the Jazz.
The all-new Honda HR-V could have sleeker taillights
Now, the teaser photos don’t reveal much but you can see that the all-new HR-V, based on the Honda Jazz platform, could come with a more composed exterior design. From the looks of it, the next-generation HR-V is fitted with revamped taillights that appear to be slimmer and sleeker as compared to the outgoing model. The teaser image also suggests that the rear bumper comes with a more muscular look, giving the Honda HR-V a more confident stance. Moreover, it seems that the all-new HR-V will feature an embossed and a more distinctive Honda badge.

Aside from the two teaser images, Honda has yet to share more details about its all-new crossover. However, based on our previous report, Honda will debut a bigger HR-V featuring a longer and wider dimension. It’s also reported that the upcoming HR-V will have an increase in wheelbase, 2,660mm as compared to the outgoing model’s 2,610mm. This means that the all-new HR-V could come with a more spacious interior.

Speaking of which, there are reports stating that the all-new HR-V might not be Honda’s smallest crossover SUV anymore as a new model will sit below it. The Japanese automaker is said to reveal a new vehicle that could up against the likes of the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos.
