Hyundai’s presence in the Philippine market will once again kick off as the Korean car brand launched its revamped model lineup that includes the Creta, Tucson, Staria, and Santa Fe.

The new Hyundai distributor in the country, Hyundai Motor Philippines, Inc. (HMPI), already has several plans moving forward. Among those is the addition of new vehicles that are confirmed to arrive soon in the local market. While it has its sight on the present and the future, HMPI also considers current Hyundai owners.

HMPI president Lee Dong Wook said that the company will “take good care of our customers even if they brought [the Hyundai vehicle] from the previous distributor. This is our customer so we will take good care [of them].”

This means that HMPH will honor the vehicle warranties of current Hyundai owners who purchased their vehicles from the car brand’s previous distributor. Of note, current or existing Hyundai owners can avail of the warranty as long as their vehicles are still within the valid warranty period.

The fourth generation Hyundai Tucson is now in the Philippines

Lee Dong Wook added that HMPH will be expanding its dealership network. Currently, HMPH has 38 dealer networks in the Philippines. The car brand plans to increase the said number to 45 outlets at the end of 2023.

“We have 38 dealers so we are now trying to provide an excellent dealer network for our Philippine customers. At the end of 2023, we would like to increase the 38 to 45,” Lee Dong Wook added.

HMPH’s initial model lineup includes the Creta, Tucson, Staria, and Santa Fe. The car brand has also confirmed that it will be introducing the Stargazer MPV this year, which could be in November. The Stargazer takes aim at the likes of the Mitsubishi Xpander and the Toyota Avanza.

Hyundai Stargazer

It makes sense for HMPH to launch the Stargazer since seven-seater MPVs are one of the most popular segments in the Philippines. Moreover, the Stargazer is manufactured in Hyundai’s new Indonesia plant, which means that it can be priced competitively once it is launched in the local market.
