The battle in the subcompact crossover arena is getting even tighter with new and competitive releases from various automakers. But Hyundai Motor Philippines, Inc. (HMPI) isn’t daunted about the competition as it has brought in a new model with the Creta.
2023 Hyundai Creta
The 2023 Creta is HMPH’s new subcompact crossover challenger. It is offered locally in three variants, namely the base 1.5 GL 6MT, 1.5 GL IVT, and 1.5 GLS IVT. Read on to know what each variant can offer to Filipinos.
Exterior
In terms of dimensions, the 2023 Hyundai Creta spans 4,315mm in length, 1,790mm in width, and 1,630mm in height including the roof rack. It also has a wheelbase and ground clearance rated at 2,610mm and 200mm, respectively. The body rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, with the top-spec model getting a two-tone finish.
Sporty-looking crossover
The variants that use the IVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission) are equipped with LED headlamps, auto light control, and dedicated LED daytime running lights. Standard features include halogen turn signal lamps, LED rear combination lamps, front and rear wipers, and electric side mirror adjustment. The Creta debuted alongside three other Hyundai vehicles as part of the car brand's official relaunch in the Philippine market.
Interior
Inside, the two Creta IVT variants once again get the upper hand as they offer leatherette seats, while the base 1.5 GL 6MT utilizes cloth seat materials. As for standard interior features, the cabin is equipped with 60:40 split folding rear seats, a center armrest with cup holders, power door locks, and power side mirrors.

For those who are considering getting the top-of-the-line model, features such as a glove box with a cooling function, and auto single temperature control for the air conditioning await them. A wireless charger function is also part of the flagship package which can keep passengers stay connected on the go.
Tech & Safety
An 8-inch infotainment touchscreen is available in the IVT variants, supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. As for the base variant, it gets an integrated radio with a 3.8-inch LCD information screen. But at least, all variants come standard with a 4-speaker sound system. Meanwhile, the top- and mid-Creta variants come with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
HMPI is taking safety up a notch by integrating its new crossover with five advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) functions, namely Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist (BCA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), High Beam Assist, and Driver Attention Warning. Of note, the said advanced driver assistance system are integrated into the top-spec 1.5 GLS IVT Creta variant.
Engine & Powertrain
Under the hood, you will find a standard 1.5-liter Smartstream DOHC D-CVVT gasoline engine capable of delivering 113 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque. The entry-level model uses a 6-speed manual transmission, while the rest has an IVT, the brand’s moniker for its in-house continuously variable transmission (CVT).
The Hyundai Creta is now available in the market
As standard, the subcompact crossover is installed with an electric parking brake with an auto hold feature. But only the top-spec 1.5 GLS IVT boasts a drive mode selector and a terrain mode. With these, the vehicle can adapt to various road conditions for safer and smoother drives.
Price
Just like the 2023 Hyundai Tucson, Santa Fe, and Staria, HMPI is offering a 5-year or 200,000-km warranty for the 2023 Hyundai Creta. For your reference, here is the complete list of prices for the new subcompact crossover:

The Hyundai Creta 2023 is a subcompact, five-seater crossover. Locally, this model has three different variants. There’s the GL MT, the GL IVT, and the GLS IVT. Their prices then range from Php 1,048,000 to Php 1,388,000.
