The Fast and Furious Saga has come a long way as it is now in its third decade. On that note, Universal Studios is bringing the franchise closer to its end with Fast X as its penultimate film.
New Fast X trailer
Today, Universal Studios released the film's second trailer, which has a more upbeat take than the first trailer. Then again, not a lot of details have been revealed in this new trailer.
Jason Momoa will appear as Dante Reyes, the film's main antagonist of the film. He seeks revenge after Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his crew took down Brazilian drug kingpin and Dante’s father, Hernan Reyes, in 2011’s Fast Five.
After masterminding a revenge plot for 12 years, Dante plans to scatter Dom’s family to different parts of the world, with the latter’s 8-year-old son, Brian Toretto (Leo Abelo Perry) as the ultimate target.
The first Fast X trailer
Jakob Toretto (John Cena) will return following his debut in the Fast 9 film and he appears to have joined forces with Dom’s crew. One long-time character that didn’t appear in either of the trailers is Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson). This coincides with the fact that Hobbs & Shaw was indeed his last film appearance in the franchise.
There is a lot of action going on in the trailers that we can look forward to. The Torettos will drive around in American muscle cars, while Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) is returning with his love for British supercars. Dante meanwhile, is entering the scene in classic American muscles as well.
New characters will also join the fray: Tess (Brie Larson) as a rouge representative from the Agency, Aimes (Alan Richtson) as the new head of the Agency, a Brazilian street racer played by Daniela Melchior who has a powerful tie to Dom’s past, and Rita Moreno as Dom and Mia’s Abuelita Toretto.
Dom is up against a force to be reckoned with
The Fast X is slated to hit cinemas on May 19, 2023.
