In collaboration with Australian firm Carbon Revolution, the new carbon fiber wheels are designed to introduce several innovations to the Ford Mustang Dark Horse. It reduces the unsprung and rotational mass of the vehicle by 37 percent as compared to the standard aluminum wheels, according to Ford.
This isn’t the first time Carbon Revolution and Blue Oval company collaborated as the former also supplied carbon fiber wheels to the Ford GT and the Mustang Shelby series.

The 19-inch carbon fiber wheels have a five-spoke design with the Carbon Revolution Diamond Weave Technology. It ensures a perfect carbon fiber weave on the wheel’s visible surfaces. Moreover, the new wheel is the first to feature signature blue carbon fiber detailing, matching the blue accents found on the exterior and interior.
Speaking of the interior, the American automaker has recently unveiled the performance vehicle’s cabin. The Dark Horse interior comes with an anodized blue theme including a lightweight titanium manual shift knob, anodized silver paddle shifters for the 10-speed gearbox variant, and Recaro performance seats featuring exclusive Deep Indigo Blue bolsters, among others.

Powering the top-spec, performance-focused Mustang Dark Horse is a 5.0-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine capable of generating 500 horsepower and 567 Nm of torque. With those numbers in mind, the Dark Horse will be the most powerful non-turbocharged Mustang in the brand’s lineup.
The optional carbon fiber wheels will further complement the vehicle’s performance by reducing weight, which, in turn, will enhance its power-to-weight ratio. Carbon Revolution conducted over 200 tests for the structural and environmental validation of the carbon fiber wheels.
The Dark Horse is coming out this year
Ford announced that the Mustang Dark Horse’s sales will commence this year in the U.S. As of this writing, Ford Philippines hasn’t put out a word about whether the all-new seventh-generation Mustang will make its way to our market.
