It will be appearing at the said mall on June 16, 2023.

The Mitsubishi XFC Concept is coming to the Philippines. If you want to see it in the metal, it is scheduled to be displayed at the Garden Wing Lobby of the Newport Mall in Pasay City from June 16 to 18, 2023.

The Mitsubishi XFC concept car

Interestingly, the XFC’s local appearance follows a report that a production version of this concept car will be debuting at the upcoming 30th Gaikindo International Auto Show in August. With that said, we can speculate that the concept’s local appearance is a sign that the brand might be gauging market interest for the yet-to-be-named model that was based on the XFC.

To refresh one’s memories regarding the XFC, Mitsubishi designed this from the ground up to suit the ASEAN market. Specifically, it intends to fill in the crossover SUV-sized hole left by the discontinued ASX.

Inside the XFC

Clues for this are apparent from its Normal, Wet, Gravel, and Mud drive modes. The wet mode in particular might come in handy during rainy seasons. It likewise gets generous ground clearance for dealing with the typical rough Asian road.

With regards to its powertrain, no details were shared by the brand just yet. But according to rumors, it will be getting the same 1.5-liter engine from the Xpander. That’s because many are saying that the XFC is based on the aforementioned MPV.

The XFC concept vehicle even shares plenty of design cues with the popular MPV. It sports similar T-shaped headlamps, the dynamic shield grille, and plenty of other familiar design cues.

Like with most speculations though, do take the rumors about the powertrain bit with a grain of salt. Better yet, those interested in the XFC might want to see it for themselves at the Newport Mall to determine if it really does look like the brand's larger MPV model.

Also, better keep your eyes here on Philkotse as Mitsubishi might be sharing more concrete information about the XFC concept’s production model once it launches this coming August.
