The next-gen model gets a whole lot beefier.

Mitsubishi will reportedly be introducing the all-new Strada pickup up truck in July. A report from the Thai website Headlightmag said that the Japanese automaker plans to launch the new Strada on July 26, 2023.

It was previously reported that the all-new Strada is based on the Mitsubishi XRT Concept Truck, which was showcased at the 44th Bangkok International Motor Show.

Mitsubishi remains mum regarding the specs. But the Thai auto magazine mentioned a new engine could be fitted under the hood. This is a 2.4-liter 4N16 turbodiesel engine, a power unit that falls under the same 4N1 engine series as the 4N15 found in the current generation model.

In addition to the powertrain, the upcoming Strada could be made available with a hybrid option in the following years.

What we do know is Mitsubishi’s plan to launch an all-electric pickup truck as part of its Challenge 2025 business strategy. The strategy looks to expand the brand’s electrified portfolio in the next five years, including the introduction of seven electric vehicles (EVs) dubbed the xEV models.

To know the exact details of the all-new Strada, catch the pickup’s global premiere next month at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Thailand. Hopefully, it won’t take long before Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) gets its hands on the all-new Strada as well.

Meanwhile, the next-gen iteration of the Strada’s midsize SUV counterpart, the Montero Sport, will reportedly make its debut later in 2025. We should know what we can expect from the SUV once the new Strada has come out in metal as the two share similar components.
