During the enhanced community quarantine months, one can say that there wasn’t much car selling going on. Most local car companies were affected by this. Following that however, it has been reported that the car industry has been picking itself back up again.
Case in point is Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation, which did staggeringly well in September 2020. In that month, the company managed to sell 5,384 individual units. That’s a 205 percent increase from August.
According to MMPC, this huge leap in sales volume was due to the “Mitsubishi Rollback” promo. The said promo gave huge discounts to the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 and the Mitsubishi L300.
As a result, the Mirage G4 sedan led the pack with a whopping 1,873 units sold. Following closely is the L300, Mitsubishi’s best-selling commercial vehicle, at 1,698 units sold. For the Mitsubishi sedan that means it increased its sales by 391 percent when compared to how it did in August.
It also helped that the Mirage G4 is a great car
Besides the Mirage G4 and L300, here’s how other Mitsubishi models performed in September:
Product |
Units sold |
% Increase |
Mitsubishi Xpander |
899 |
144% |
Mitsubishi Strada |
656 |
116% |
Mitsubishi Pajero |

277% |
Regarding this great increase in sales performance, Mutsuhiro Oshikiri, the President and CEO of MMPC says that:
“September was a very good month for MMPC. We are truly grateful to our clients who patronized our brand. We would also like to commend our dealer partners who have displayed strong resiliency towards the tough challenge that we are all facing. We are all geared to finish the year in high spirits and will continue to create programs that will provide easy ownership and excellent customer experience.”
Due to the success of the “Mitsubishi Rollback” promo, MMPC will be extending it until October 31, 2020. That means the Mirage G4 GLX MT’s standard retail price is reduced down to Php 528,000. The L300 also gets a discount, which brings down its price to just Php 698,000.
If you want or need a Mitsubishi, now's the time to get one
