The bridge was lit up by colorful Minis.

It has only been a month since the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) was inaugurated, and Mini Philippines already decided to try out the new inter-island bridge through its Mini Cebu Breakfast Drive.

Minis on the CCLEX

Organized by Mini Philippines and Mini Cebu, the drive was graced by 29 Mini vehicles with over 50 attendees. It started at the Nustar Resort Casino, where attendees enjoyed the 5-star resort with world-class gaming, events, shopping, and dining. They then drove to Mactan Island via the CCLEX, and back to the resort.

A wide array of Mini models joined the breakfast drive in various attractive body works which lit up the expressway. One of the models is the Mini Countryman, a luxury crossover that is an ideal choice for those Filipino families who need space on the go. Moreover, the Mini Convertible was also spotted on the drive.

British cars take on Visayas' iconic landmark

The CCLEX is an 8.5-km inter-island bridge that connects Cebu City and Mactan via a toll road system. Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), the same company that manages expressways in Luzon such as NLEX (North Luzon Expressway), is responsible for regulating the toll road for the convenience of motorists in the area.

At least 50,000 motorists are expected to use the new expressway daily, making it a significant road in the Queen of the South. It was even built to become an iconic landmark in the region. For safety, the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway Corp. (CCLEC) installed motion sensors, speed sensors, and high-definition closed-circuit televisions (CCTVs).

One memorable breakfast drive

The Mini Cebu Breakfast Drive is the British marque’s first run this year which is aimed to build camaraderie among Mini owners in the region. For those that might’ve been amused by the participating vehicles, Mini Philippines is encouraging them to visit its Cebu showroom situated at Escario corner 372 Tojong St., Brgy. Camputhaw, Cebu City.
