The 2023 Mazda CX-60 may be a new contender in the market but it is already showing up big time in the safety department. In the latest series of tests conducted by the Euro NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme), the model managed to bring home a 5-star safety rating.
Mazda CX-60
To recap, the Mazda CX-60 is the newest midsize crossover model of the Japanese automaker. It is currently available in the European and Japanese markets only as part of the brand’s Large Product Group program in the regions. Soon, the vehicle will be joined by the larger CX-80, which is expected to be launched sometime in the next two years.
Going back to the Euro NCAP crash tests, the CX-60 scored 91 percent in the Child Occupancy category after achieving maximum points for crash test performance based on six and 10-year-old children. Moreover, the correct installation of child seats also received maximum points.

The Adult Occupancy category saw an 88 percent score thanks to the good level of protection in the full-width rigid barrier test. Side barrier and side pole impact protection tests also returned full marks. And as for the Vulnerable Road Users and Safety Assist categories, the crossover delivered 89 and 76 percent scores, respectively.
With that being said, the CX-60 now joins the CX-5 (2017), Mazda6 (2018), Mazda3 and Mazda CX-30 (both 2019), and MX-30 (2020) as the Mazda models to bag a 5-star Euro NCAP rating. Not only is the new midsize crossover safe but also environmentally friendly as it is part of the brand’s commitment to a multi-solution approach to sustainable mobility.
Available in three variants: Exclusive-Line, Homura, and Takumi
The Mazda CX-60 won’t be arriving in the Philippines anytime soon as it is exclusively developed for Japan and Europe, at least for now. But the Euro NCAP crash test goes to show the efforts of the brand in making its vehicles safe.
