It’s no longer just available for pre-order.

We previously reported that Lexus Philippines is already accepting pre-orders for the 2022 ES midsize sedan. Just in case you needed a little more prodding, the carmaker announced that it will be presenting the car via an online launch on Friday, December 10, 7 p.m.

Introducing the Lexus ES

The ES is already on its seventh generation, being one of the brand’s core offerings that contributed 25 percent of its total vehicle sales in 2020. Lexus says this iteration further emphasizes its renowned attributes of quietness, space, comfort, and smooth performance.

That the ES managed to arrive in our market at all is quite a feat, as the car was included in the list of affected models when parent company Toyota temporarily closed its production facilities in Japan. The suspensions were caused by a global chip shortage, resulting in model launches being delayed and Toyota experiencing a backlog in its key markets.

The ES is a core model for Lexus, comprising a quarter of its overall sales for 2020

Anyway, Lexus Philippines is assuring its customers that the 2022 ES has landed in two trim levels, bringing an evolved design through a newly designed front grille and revamped bi-beam LED headlamps. The ES is available in a total of 10 exterior colors, with a choice of 17- and 18-inch alloy wheel designs.

The interior aims to retain the model’s premium sedan status with the inclusion of power-adjustable front and rear seats, triple-zone automatic climate control, and heads-up display. Touchscreen head units come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and are connected to a choice of two premium speaker systems.

A luxurious and intelligent cabin awaits occupants

Safety features include a plethora of airbags, anti-lock brakes, traction control, stability control, and an Auto-Location Tire Pressure Warning System. Among the driver-assist features on offer as part of the Lexus Safety System are Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert System, and an Adaptive High-Beam System.

The new Lexus ES comes in a choice of two powertrain options, with the ES 300h running on a 2.5-liter inline-4 gasoline engine partnered with hybrid electric system for a total output of 215 horsepower and 221 Nm of torque. The front wheels receive power through an e-CVT. Meanwhile, the ES 350 Premier relies on a 3.5-liter gasoline V6 generating 298 horsepower and 356 Nm of torque, mated to an 8-speed direct-shift automatic gearbox.

The 2022 ES comes with an impressive aray of safety features

Pricing for the 2022 Lexus ES starts at Php 3,758,000 for the ES 300h all the way to Php 4,728,000 for the ES 350 Premier. In case you miss the online reveal, you can still view the new ES in the metal at any authorized Lexus dealer nationwide.
