The Kia Picanto is one of the most recognizable cars here in the country. In fact, it is considered by many Filipinos who are buying a practical and affordable car, replacing the Pride as the brand’s entry-level model.
The current-generation Kia Picanto has been here in the Philippines since 2017, so it’s just about time for it to get a refresh.

According to The Korean Car Blog, the Kia Picanto (also known as Morning in South Korea and some overseas markets) will get a facelift, and the leaked images here were from the photos captured near Frankfurt, Germany.
It looks like Kia is currently shooting the city hatchbacks promotional materials for the city car, which the mentioned blog was able to obtain.
Based on what we see on the leaked images, the updated 2021 Kia Picanto will get added style and finesse with the updated bumper and LED taillights, as well as updated alloy wheels and headlights.
It’s interesting to point out that the update on the new Kia Picanto’s bumper reflects on what the current Kia Sportage has, which was introduced here last year together with the company’s relaunch under the Ayala Corporation.

Moreover, the new Picanto will reportedly be launched at the end of 2020 or early in 2021, which we think is right on schedule but we won’t be surprised if this will be delayed due to the current pandemic.
The Kia Picanto currently on sale runs on 1.0L and 1.2L MPI engines with varying power outputs. Although it seems unlikely for the facelift to get a performance upgrade for marketing purposes, it will still be great to see it get done by the Korean automaker just to compliment the facelift.
