The Class 2 PUVs come with an A/C system and Wi-Fi onboard.

Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI) is one with the Department of Transportation (DOTr)’s public vehicle modernization program (PUVMP) by turning over its Modern PUVs in different areas of the country. The latest areas that welcomed the new Hyundai public transportation units are in Northern and Central Luzon.

LTFRB and HTB Cabanatuan representatives graced the ceremony

Hyundai Trucks and Buses Cabanatuan (HTB Cabanatuan) turned over 23 units of HD50S Modern PUV Class 2 to the Laoag Bacarra Pasuquin Transportation Group Inc. (LBPTGI) in Ilocos Norte. Meanwhile, the Sapang Palay Tungko Grotto Transport Service Cooperative (SPTGTSC) of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan received over 15 units of the same Modern PUV model.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in the government’s PUVMP and to contribute to helping the country’s hard-working transport cooperatives to modernize their fleet through Hyundai’s quality people movers,” said HTB Cabanatuan President Dennis San Juan.

Safer and more comfortable mobility for the riding public

The Hyundai HD50S Modern PUV will be serving commuters in the Northern and Central Luzon with its 22-seating configuration, including 10 more standing commuters. It is equipped with an Auto Fare Collection System, roof-mounted air conditioning, a 7-inch monitor, and onboard Wi-Fi for the comfort and convenience of passengers.

Powering the Modern PUV unit is a Euro 4-compliant 2.9-liter common-rail diesel engine capable of generating 158 hp and 392 Nm of torque. It is also installed with safety features including a speed limiting buzzer and a GPS tracker.

“HARI believes that quality speaks for itself, and that commitment to quality is what our hard-working, progressive transport groups have seen in our Hyundai Modern PUVs. They can rest assured that we shall return their trust with nothing less than dedicated service and assistance to maintain the quality, safety, and road-worthiness expected of our Modern PUVs,” said HARI President and CEO Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo.

DOTr's PUVMP should grow in the upcoming years

This is not the first time HARI turned over its Modern PUV models to transportation groups. The Korean automaker advanced the PUVMP in key areas such as Tarlac, Pangasinan, and Cavite. These are part of the car brand’s commitment to providing better, more efficient, and safer mobility nationwide.
