This new EV emerges victorious in three different categories.

The all-new Hyundai Ioniq 6 electric vehicle (EV) has performed a hat trick at the 2023 World Car Awards. To be more exact, it has won three separate categories under the said event including the World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle, and World Car Design of the Year.

This is the second time in a row that Hyundai has won in the three World Car Awards Categories. In fact, the Ioniq 6 follows in the footsteps of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which was likewise hailed as the winner in all three categories in 2022.

Note that getting on top of all three categories is no easy feat. In the World Car of the Year category alone, the Ioniq 6 already faced stiff competition with the Kia Niro and BMW X1/iX1 which came in second and third place respectively.

To make things accurate and unbiased, the vote results were then tabulated by KPMG International Limited, a UK-based accounting and auditing company.

At the 2023 World Car Awards awarding ceremony held at the New York Auto Show, Hyundai, and Genesis Global Design Executive Vice President SangYup Lee also received his World Car Person of the Year Trophy.
