The Icon got more stylish with this fresh set of paint options.

Chinese carmaker Geely released four new body color options for the Icon that all look youthful and bright. The new exterior colors include light pink, blue, mint green, and rose gold. To note, Geely hasn’t disclosed the official descriptions of the new colors so the actual names could still vary.

Considering that the four new colors come with a bright finish, the black claddings around the lower part of the Geely Icon create a pleasing contrast. This is also the case for the blacked-out A, B, C, and D pillars, as well as the roof and spoiler. Overall, the colors fit well for the type of vehicle the Icon is.

Brighter finish

The Geely Icon is a subcompact crossover that is introduced last February 2020. With its size and sharp styling, the Icon is an ideal choice among young car buyers. The four new colors can be availed of by car buyers to further complement the youthful nature of the nameplate.

It suits well with young car buyers

Powering the Chinese subcompact crossover is a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged engine as standard which is capable of generating 174 hp and 255 Nm of torque. It is offered with a 48-volt BSG Intelligent Mild Hybrid System as an option, amping the power up to 188 hp and 300 Nm of torque.

The Geely Icon serves looks

Looking at the powertrain, it is the same as the one in the Geely Coolray. In fact, both subcompact crossovers from Geely pose similar features. The Icon is only larger by 20mm, and it is 10mm wider, and 6mm taller than the Coolray.

With that in mind, the chances of the Geely Icon arriving in the country is little to none, especially when considering the success of the Coolray in the local subcompact crossover segment. But if somehow the Icon makes its way in Geely Philippines’ lineup, the four bright color options should be brought in as well.
