In the midst of the pandemic, Filipinos have come together to battle the global health crisis to see a brighter tomorrow. Foton Philippines has shown its support for the country during these challenging times as it partnered with Philippine Red Cross (PRC) to roll out its Disaster Response Food Truck.

A successful turnover ceremony was held

Considering that many Filipinos lost their jobs when the COVID-19 first broke out in the country last March 2020, Philippine Red Cross Navotas and Caloocan Chapter Admin Roberto R. Dacles said that the Disaster Response Food Truck can deliver safe and nutritious food to various barangays including remote areas.

Foton Tornado M4.2C Food Truck

Dacles commended Foton Philippines for lending its trucks in advancing PRC’s commitment to providing food and relief to the community. Foton Quezon Avenue turned over four units of the Tornado M4.2C that were reconfigured to come with a refrigerator, cooking stove, equipment storage, washing area, and stove hood.

With a body length of 14 feet (or around 4,267 mm), the Disaster Response Food Truck can maneuver the state-of-the-art kitchen around streets with ease. This makes the food truck suitable for an immediate response especially in the event of an emergency.

It is configured with a kitchen

Powering the Foton M4.2C Food Truck is a 3.8-liter Cummins ISF 4-cylinder turbodiesel engine that is capable of generating 156 hp and 500 Nm of torque at 1,200 to 1,900 rpm. With those numbers in mind, carrying loads of goods is not a problem for the food truck even when driving uphill.

Complete with the essentials

“Alam naman po natin na tayo ay archipelagic country kaya napakahalaga po satin ang transportasyon. Ang partnership na ito ng Red Cross at Foton Philippines ay magbubunga ng maganda most especially pagdating sa pagtulong sa mga kababayan natin,” said Dacles.

(We all know that we are in an archipelagic country so transportation is very important. The partnership of Red Cross and Foton Philippines will have a positive outcome most especially when it comes to helping our fellow countrymen.)
