Foton Motor Philippines, Inc. (FMPI) announced that Foton Iloilo bagged the prestigious Dealer of the Year award at its annual Grit Awards held at the Solaire Resort and Casino in Manila.

The Dealer of the Year award reflects the strong performance Foton Iloilo contributed in 2022. In that year, FMPI managed to register an 18 percent growth in sales, which is said to have successfully penetrated the private, government, and huge fleet accounts.
For this year, the Chinese automaker is aiming to sell 6,000 units. One of the three major plans to achieve its goal is to launch an all-electric light-duty truck in the lineup, which will be a first in the country.
This truck is the Foton Tornado EV, a fully-electric light-duty truck that was unveiled during FMPI’s Foton Big Show 2023. It represents a big step for the brand in providing more sustainable and environmentally friendlier logistic solutions. Among the Tornado EV’s capabilities are a 9-second zero to 50 km/h acceleration time and a range of around 208 kilometers.

The two other plans include the reinforced marketing and sponsorship deals being the official mobility vehicle of the Gilas Pilipinas in FIBA 2023, and expansion of the company’s dealership network.
“This has been made possible not only because we are selling units that bring optimal mobility services and results to our clients, but dare I say, due to the grit and resolve each of you has brought to the table,” said FMPI General Manager Levy Santos.
