Ford Philippines is inviting you to test drive the next-gen 2023 Ranger Raptor at the upcoming Ford Island Conquest (FIC) starting May 19.
Next-gen Ford Ranger Raptor
Now in its sixth year, the FIC is a nationwide test drive tour that allows more Filipinos to get behind the wheels of Ford vehicles. For the test drive event this Friday, the company has created a specially-designed off-road track, which is said to serve as a playground for the new pickup truck.
No specifications have been disclosed as of this writing. But one of the engines made available in global markets is the V6 gasoline engine.
Looking at the Thai-spec Ranger Raptor, the power unit is capable of generating 392 horsepower and 583 Nm of torque. Since Ford Philippines should source the model from the Land of Smiles, we can expect to drive the more potent powertrain setup at the Ford Island Conquest.
If the said V6 engine won’t power the PH-spec model, the familiar 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel engine should be fitted under the hood. It is capable of generating 207 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, sending power to all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The new Ranger Raptor will join the upcoming Island Conquest
Some of the expected off-road features that should make the specially-designed track more fun to drive on include upgraded Fox shock absorbers, seven drive modes, and front and rear differential locks.
But yet again, we have to wait for the official specifications, which should be released tomorrow at the next-gen Ford Ranger Raptor’s Philippine debut.
The upcoming FIC will also provide test drive opportunities on other Ford vehicles including the next-gen Ranger Wildtrak 4x4, Everest Titanium+ 4x4, Ranger and Everest 4x2 variants, and next-gen Territory.
To further make the visit worthwhile, Ford Philippines will be offering up to Php 100,000 cash savings when you purchase a next-gen Territory, Everest, or Ranger during the test drive event. Also up for grabs are Php 50,000, Php 30,000, Php 20,000, or Php 10,000 cash savings.
