The next-generation 2023 Ford Territory has received a five-star safety rating from the Chinese New Car Assessment Program (C-NCAP).

To further break it down, the Territory received 89.85 percent out of 100 percent for occupant protection, 72.65 percent for pedestrian protection, and 87.98 percent for active safety. When summed up, all of these equate to an overall rating of 86.8 percent, which is equivalent to a five-star rating.
As a side note, the C-NCAP uses a different format from the ASEAN NCAP. Both testing organizations have three categories, but the ASEAN NCAP places child occupant protection as a separate category. The C-NCAP meanwhile, consolidates the latter under its occupant protection category.
With regards to the model tested by C-NCAP, it mirrors the Philippine-spec Territory Titanium X as it gets a full complement of driver-assistive features. This includes a lane-keeping aid, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, autonomous braking with pedestrian protection, and a collision mitigation system. The Chinese version of the Territory also gets six airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors, etc.

Why are we talking about the Ford Territory’s C-NCAP results? Well, there’s the fact that the ASEAN NCAP is yet to release the results for this model. So for now, referring to the C-NCAP for just how capable the Territory is regarding safety is the next best thing.
For those eyeing the Ford Territory as their next ride, note that it gets two trims for the Philippine market. The entry-level Territory Titanium is priced at Php 1,335,000, while the top-spec Titanium X retails at Php 1,599,000.
Powering both Philippine market Territory trims is a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine paired with a seven-speed wet-type dual-clutch automatic gearbox. At the maximum, this powertrain can then churn out 158 horsepower and 248 Nm of torque.
