Ford Philippines recently won big at the 5th Driven to Serve Awards by the Society of Philippine Motoring Journalists (SPMJ), recognized for its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs with the three gold awards.

In the Community Development category, Ford won with its Building Healthy Communities outreach program that promotes self-sufficiency and increased health awareness through neighborhood-based educational efforts. Aside from medical and dental missions, the program also supported farmers in Northern Luzon by purchasing their produce and donating these to Gawad Kalinga (GK) communities in Bulacan.
A virtual volunteer activity allowed Ford employees to act as teachers to children in Sta. Cruz, Laguna, where they engaged in storytelling, arts and crafts, making board games, and conducting academic tutorials. Ford also donated $5,000 (Php 262,075) to the GX Community Development Foundation in support of the Kusina ng Kalinga community kitchen.
Ford deployed its Transit vans to provide transportation for medical frontliners
For the COVID-19 Response category, the company was lauded for actively supporting pandemic response efforts, including raising over Php 600,000 to fund GK’s ‘Walang Iwanan, Walang Hawaan’ relief and rehabilitation program. This initiative distributed food packs to vulnerable families in the Visayas region, as well providing volunteers with personal protective equipment (PPEs), medical supplies, and medical equipment.
Ford also supported the healthcare sector by donating 10,000 face shields, with 13 hospitals and health centers receiving PPEs and medical supplies through the company’s partnership with AMCHAM Foundation Philippines. A Ford Transit van was lent to the Asian Hospital to transport healthcare frontliners, while a Ranger pickup was on loan to transport food supplies and PPEs.
The Driving Skills for Life program was attended by more than 1,600 participants
The automaker also received top honors in the Road Safety category, with its Driving Skills for Life (DSFL) program that reinforces road and driver safety in the post-COVID era. Among the topics discussed were pandemic car care and maintenance tips, car sanitation and disinfection, and driving during rainy weather. Over 1,600 attendees participated in 21 virtual training sessions conducted online.
