Two of Australia’s major brands forge a partnership for off-roading fans.

Ford’s Everest midsize SUV and Ranger midsize pickup were built to keep going even when the tarmac ends, sharing the robust T6 ladder-frame platform and a potent powertrain. Now, additional hardware upgrades make them even more ready to take on the trails.

Ford Australia is collaborating with off-road brand ARB

In the Australian market, Ford has teamed up with off-road brand ARB to outfit the current-generation Everest and Ranger with specialized equipment. ARB parts will be sold through the Ford Licensed accessories program, making them available for customers who want to put more muscle into their rigs.

“A lot of our customers have told us they’d love to be able to access a wider range of quality off-road accessories through our dealership network,” said Ford Australia President and CEO Andrew Birkic. “This collaboration will mean they can head off-road safely with access to a range of ARB accessories.”

All ARB accessories for the two models have passed Ford standards

The deal allows ARB to complement Ford’s accessory options with those that the carmaker currently does not stock or offer as an available feature, such as winches and additional suspension options. Ford engineers have validated ARB components as being compatible with existing vehicle systems, and the parts have been tested in a number of locations including Ford’s You Yangs proving grounds.

All additional components will be sold under the ARB brand and will carry the same 5-year/unlimited mileage warranty as Ford’s in-house accessory line. They will also be available in, and installed by, select Ford dealerships.

A similar partnership is expected in other markets where the two companies are present

The partnership being launched in Australia seems apt as this was where Ford designed and engineered the current Everest and Ranger. It’s also ARB’s home market, where it is considered the largest manufacturer of aftermarket 4WD accessories. Both companies have a global presence in other territories such as the United States, Thailand, and Europe, which means that this alliance could expand to other markets.
