The Philippine Overland Expedition is just around the corner for its maiden 2022 staging, and organizers are reminding interested participants that registration is still ongoing.
The country's first overland expedition is just around the corner
Petron Corporation, Mototesto, and Motolite Philippines announced that they are still accepting registrants until September 30, 2022. The Php 25,000 registration fee gets participants Php 5,000 worth of fuel from Petron, in addition to Php 3,000 worth of exclusive event giveaways. Teams who registered early also received the Excel EFB, the latest Motolite battery product engineered for endurance and performance.
The competition will see 30 teams battle it out in challenging off-road terrain from San Fernando, Pampanga to General Nakar in Quezon from October 12 to 16, 2022, passing through Nueva Ecija and Aurora Province. For this reason, mud-terrain tires and recovery equipment such as winches and snorkels are required on rigs entered in the event.
Participating vehicles need to be properly equipped to last the five-day event
At the end of the five-day expedition, a number of prizes will be up for grabs. These include Php 500,000 for the championship purse, Php 200,000 for second place, Php 100,000 for third place, and two special awards at Php 75,000 each.
Meanwhile, those who prefer camping can sign up for the Overland Expo, with registration open until October 7. The fee is at Php 7,500 per rig regardless of the number of occupants, and the event begins on October 14 with three days and two nights of camping and off-grid, nature-loving adventure. Participants to the expo get event tokens and a 70 percent discount voucher on Motolite Excel EFB purchases.
Teams will be competing for cash prizes and bragging rights
All registered competitors and campers are also eligible for the exclusive Buy 3, Take 1 Promo offered by CST Tires that supplies radials for off-roading vehicles. Participants have already been briefed by organizers last September 11, with an overview of everything they need to know and what to expect at the twin events.
If you think you’ve got the off-road chops to prevail over some of the most punishing conditions for man and machine, head on over to the Mototesto website and register now.
