The 2022 edition will be different this time as the Japanese automaker will allow fans to witness the race in the grandstand for free. They just need to show their vaccination cards. Last year, participating drivers had to showcase their racecraft without a live audience due to the COVID-19 restrictions, which caused the second leg to be postponements.

Two main events will be featured at the TGR Vios Cup 2022, namely the Circuit Championship and Autocross Challenge. Top racing teams in the Philippines will compete in the Circuit Championship. Racers from the three classes (Super Sporting, Sporting, and Promotional) will keep their pace up to see the checkered flag first.

Meanwhile, celebrities, influencers, and members of the media will participate in the Autocross Challenge. They will try to be at the top of their game while driving through a specially designed race course.

“Over the years, the TGR Vios Cup has been serving as a vehicle for us to champion the local racers, and to bring the thrill of racing to everyone. We thank our ever-growing community of racers and motorsports fans for their support which makes the TGR Vios Cup one of the biggest, longest-running racing events in the Philippines,” said TMP First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations Sherwin Chualim.

“With the event welcoming the public to the grandstand once again, it’s the perfect way to bring together the ambitious spirit of the racers and the rousing energy of the fans,” added Chualim.
