Petron to stage first-ever Overland Expo in PH this October

Petron Philippines, in partnership with Mototesto, will stage the first 2022 Petron Philippine Overland Expo: Pacific Coast Challenge from October 12 to 16, 2022.

Petron is set to hold its first Overlanding expo in the country

Participants of the competition will have to drive through the harshest off-road terrain to win over Php 1,000,000 worth of prices. It consists of a 5-day, 285-km long overlanding journey from San Fernando Pampanga to General Nakar, Quezon via Nueva Ecija and Aurora Province.

“The main goal of creating this event is to showcase the beauty of the Philippines, and strengthen the bond with our Mototesto customers, while fostering unforgettable experiences with them,” said Mototesto President and CEO Tim Tuazon.

Mototesto is inviting interested off-road enthusiasts to join the competition. To qualify, teams must have six members with three 4x4 off-road vehicles. Modifications will be allowed to in preparation for various road conditions, but each vehicle must be a production variant retaining at least 80 percent of its original body and chassis structure.

Moreover, teams must bring their own food and water, as well as spare parts and supplies to keep them moving forward in the journey. That said, the expedition will ‘test the team’s endurance, resilience, camaraderie, off-road driving abilities, and survival skills.’

But the first-ever Pacific Coast Challenge isn’t exclusive to participating teams. Mototesto is also inviting other enthusiasts to set up camp at the 6th Philippine Overland Expo which happens to be the final stop of the competition, where the awarding ceremony will be held.

• Champion – Php 500,000
• Second Place – Php 200,000
• Third Place – Php 100,000
• Two Special Awards – Php 75,000 each
