An all-new next-generation version of the Chevrolet Trax is due to be launched in the Philippine market in July 2023. This was confirmed by the brand, which also posted a teaser video on its official Facebook page.
As with most teasers, the brand’s post did not share concrete details about the car. Instead, the teaser for the Chevy Trax came in a video format showing closeups of what looks to be a crossover’s wide grille, sharp LED daytime running lamps, its C-shaped taillights, angular rear quarter section, roof rails, and wheels.
Some shots of the interior were also presented including the shifter, contrast red stitching on the seats and the steering wheel, and a digital gauge cluster. Particular focus was given to the “RS” badging which indicates that a variant of the same name will be released locally.

If we refer to the globally available Trax which sports roughly the same exterior styling details, then the local version might be getting a 1.2-liter turbocharged inline-3 gasoline engine. At maximum, this mill can produce up to 137 horsepower and 219 Nm of torque. A six-speed automatic gearbox option is available for this powertrain.
Note, however, that another version is built in China and is sold in the same market as the Seeker. In the said market, it's a bit more powerful than the global version thanks to its larger 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine making 181 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. Instead of an automatic, this mill is linked to a continuously variable transmission.

Another thing that the Philippine version might be getting is a tech-heavy cabin. On the global market model, the Trax features an 11-inch touchscreen headunit with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, etc.
The globally sold version of this Chevrolet likewise goes heavy on its safety kit. It gets automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, lane keep assist, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams, among others.
As with most speculations about upcoming vehicles though, do take this with a grain of salt. So keep it here on Philkotse for more details about the upcoming all-new Chevrolet Trax.
