An accessorized Kia Stonic will also be introduced.

Kia announced that it will be relaunching the brand in the Philippines on November 8 by introducing the Korean automaker’s new logo. To further make an impression about the car brand’s new image in the country, our insider source among Kia dealers shared that the car brand will be launching two vehicles donning the new Kia emblem

All-new Kia Sorento

With that said, an insider source told us that Kia PH will be launching the all-new Sorento. The Korean automaker’s midsize SUV made its global debut last year featuring a new platform that comes with a longer wheelbase, and a smaller engine bay.

Kia PH has yet to give the exact details in regards to pricing, specs, and variants of the local spec all-new Sorento. But the global spec Kia Sorento can either have a 1.6-liter turbo hybrid engine that delivers 230 hp and 350 Nm of torque. This power unit comes with a 1.49-kWh battery pack that’s placed beneath the passenger cell.

The all-new Sorento can also be powered by a 2.2-liter diesel engine that can put out 202 hp and 440 Nm of torque. The engine is connected to a wet-type 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Since the local market is fond of diesel engines, it would make sense if Kia PH offers the all-new Sorento with the said power unit.

The said vehicle also comes with a Terrain Mode feature, which is said to boost the Sorento’s off-road capabilities. The system optimizes the drivetrain for driving on different types of terrain such as Mud, Snow, and Sand.

The fourth-generation Kia Sorento looks way modern in terms of styling as compared to the current model offered in the Philippines. But, aside from its new style direction, the Sorento can also be considered a safe vehicle. This is due to the fact that it has bagged a five-star safety rating from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) and the Euro NCAP.

Kia Stonic

Other than the local debut of the all-new Sorento, Kia PH will also be introducing an accessorized Stonic on November 8. The said Stonic will also be featuring the new Kia emblem. However, our insider source among Kia dealers has yet to share the final details as to what we can expect on the Stonic’s accessory package.

Kia Philippines will officially be relaunched on November 8, 2021. The event will start at 6:30 p.m. and can be streamed on the official Kia Philippines Facebook page and YouTube channel.
