The MPV just got more stylish than ever.

Toyota Astra Motor, the official distributor of Toyota vehicles in Indonesia, announced that the all-new 2022 Avanza will make its debut on November 10. The new Japanese MPV is expected to make its first appearance to the public at the 2021 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS).

The all-new model should be an exciting one considering that plenty of updates were made. This is backed up by the redesigned appearance that showcases a premium-like finish. It is expected to shake up the MPV segment as a relatively affordable family vehicle that doesn’t compromise on style and technology.

Right off the bat, the 2022 Toyota Avanza is seen with a major design overhaul on the exterior. It now comes with sleeker LED headlights, a larger grille, reshaped bumper, a new set of wheels, and full-width taillights. But just like the outgoing model, the wheel arches are still body-colored.

Moving to the interior, the cabin gets a new look with the addition of white trims in the center console, door panels, and dashboard. The integrated infotainment screen from the previous model is now revised to become a floating type. This system is complemented by a new flip-down monitor placed at the headliner.

As of this writing, no official specifications have been rolled out by Toyota just yet. But based on reports, the all-new model is expected to sit on the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA). Moreover, no engine details have been disclosed as well.

The new Avanza will be placed alongside the facelifted Mitsubishi Xpander in Indonesia. Based on our report, Mitsubishi will be launching the 2022 Xpander at the upcoming GIIAS

On the other hand, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) hasn’t put out any word regarding the upcoming Avanza. If the all-new model will be launched in the country, the top-spec Veloz should go head to head with the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross in the market of intensively stylish MPVs.
