Since the introduction of the Nissan Terra facelift in Thailand is nearing, one can expect that the Philippines will follow right after. In fact, Nissan Philippines has started rolling out shadowy teasers of the “next generation of the family SUV,” saying that it will be coming soon.
Next generation of the popular family SUV
On Nissan Philippines’ official website, it now opens test drive reservations for its “New Family SUV.” The test drive application only requires a few information such as the name, region, province, mobile number, and chosen dealer.
Looking at the shadowy teasers, it is unmistakably the new Nissan Terra facelift which was first unveiled in the Middle East as the X-Terra. Perhaps the new LED headlight design is the biggest takeaway to determine that it is indeed the new model of the Japanese midsize SUV.
Looks a lot like the X-Terra
The new LED headlight comes with two layers that feature two lamps each that Nissan calls Ice Cubes. The top layer is used as the high beam headlights, while the bottom layer functions as the regular headlights. Another feature seen on the shadowy teasers is the new C-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs) which are said to be inspired by Nissan Patrol.
Inside, there are few teased interior features for its new family SUV. These include a Bose sound system, what seems to be the new nine-inch touchscreen that comes with dials, and a new dashboard layout that now sports leather as opposed to the current model’s hard plastic finish.

Under the hood, no powertrain specifications have been released. If we’ll follow the Thai-spec Nissan Terra specs, then the PH-spec could be powered by the same 2.3-liter 4-cylinder twin-turbo diesel engine that makes 190 hp and 450 Nm of torque. The engine sends power to all four wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission.
