2021 Mitsubishi Mirage: What we know so far
Small cars are still sold in droves here in the Philippines. That said, the Mitsubishi Mirage is currently one of the popular vehicles in the local subcompact hatchback segment. More likely than not, many car buyers in the Philippines are waiting for Mitsubishi to update the said model.
Drive on to independence with the Mitsubishi Mirage.
Of note, a facelifted Mirage is already available in other markets in the ASEAN region. However, the said facelifted model is yet to reach the Philippine market, and Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) is yet to say anything about bringing it in.
As such, we’re certain that the 2021 Mirage that we have now won’t be changing anytime soon. So, what can we expect from the Mitsubishi-made car in 2021?

2021 Mitsubishi Mirage: Exterior
As a carry-over, the Mirage hatchback isn’t likely to change in 2021. So, it still has the same understated, but youthful look it received during its last facelift in 2015. It also retains the same compact dimensions, meaning that it’s still one of the best options for a daily driver in the city.

Do note that the Mirage did get some exterior improvements in 2017. Those, however, were exclusive to the GLS hatchback trim, which has been discontinued.

2021 Mitsubishi Mirage: Interior
Inside, the Mirage hatch can fit in up to five people. It still features the same 6.75-inch touchscreen that’s capable of connecting via USB, Bluetooth, and is iPod compatible. However, there are some added features that we would like to be integrated into the Mirage such as a reverse camera, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

2021 Mitsubishi Mirage: Engine and Performance
Propelling the Mitsubishi Mirage is a 1.2-liter DOHC MIVEC inline-3 gasoline engine. It’s the same engine the model had since 2012, and it’s the same power unit found on the 2020 facelift. It’s old, but it has more than proven itself when it comes to driving here in the Philippines.
At the most, this three-banger can produce up to 77 horsepower and 100 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a continuously variable transmission or a five-speed manual depending on the variant.

2021 Mitsubishi Mirage: Final Thoughts
As a model, the sixth-gen Mirage is a relatively old model. It’s been around since 2012 with only slight changes done to its mechanical bits. It’s eight years old, and in the automotive world, that’s a bit ancient. Regardless, the Mirage hatchback is still one of the best subcompact cars that you can buy today. As we’ve said, it has proven itself to be a capable car in the Philippine setting.
After all these years, the Mirage is still a great looking hatchback
With regards to the facelifted version, it still retains much of the mechanicals of the currently available version. In other words, it still has the same qualities that make the current Mirage one of the popular vehicles in the local subcompact hatchback segment.
