Maxus is all set to make its market presence even further.

A few months ago, teasers of 2021 Maxus D60 were posted on Maxus Philippines' Facebook page. Now, the 2021 Maxus D60 is all set to make its local debut on February 5.

The dimension of the D60 surpasses the common standard in its league. The seven-seater is 1,860mm wide and stands 1,736mm. A notable added exterior feature is its 4,720mm length. It is noticeably longer compared to the Geely Azkarra, the GAC GS4, the Chery Tiggo 8, as well as the segment staples like the Subaru Forester, the Toyota RAV4, and the Honda CR-V.

As previously reported, the Maxus D60 shares a similar resemblance to the Maxus G50. What stands out is the crossover’s broad grille embellished with the brand’s logo. Other notable exterior features include a roof-mounted spoiler at the rear, diamond-shaped taillights, and a set of dual-toned alloy wheels.

Inside, the compact crossover offers a spacious cabin. In China, the D60 is available in five to seven-seater variants. Maxus Philippines may release the seven-seater variant locally to better compete in the market, but that’s unconfirmed at this point. Technology-wise, the D60 is fitted with a 12.3 LCD instrument cluster and a 14-inch touchscreen display.

In terms of safety, the 2021 Maxus D60 scored 88.9 percent, considered a five-star rating from the China New Car Assessment Program (C-NCAP). Standard safety features range from six airbags to anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution.

Globally, the D60 is powered by either a 1.3-liter or a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. The 1.3-liter version is paired with a six-speed manual transmission. It is expected that Maxus’ new model will be offered locally with a 1.5-liter engine.

The said power unit is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox that can produce 166 horsepower with 250 Nm of torque.
