Now, Isuzu teases the arrival of the venerable pickup truck, which will take place a month from now, on March 4, so mark it down on your calendars.

Of note, the last time Isuzu Philippines last introduced a full model update for the pickup truck model was in 2013, so understandably, many of you can’t wait to see it in the metal.

That said, Isuzu PH is yet to confirm any details for the upcoming D-Max for the Philippine market. We still don’t know exactly what variants we’re getting, and there are still no details of its specifications.

If we took the Thai-spec version as a preview of sorts. Then we know that the pickup truck in question has a totally new engine and it’s called the 4JJ3-TCX turbodiesel. It’s an inline-4 diesel mill, which has a displacement of 3.0-liters, and it’s more powerful than any of the current diesel engines that we have for the D-Max.

At the most, this new engine can make up to 188 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. The one released in Thailand also received the 1.9-liter RZ4E turbodiesel, and it makes 150 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. This engine is similar to the one on the currently available RZ4E and LT variants.

Other notable changes on the third-gen D-Max includes a sharper, more modern exterior design, with better exterior equipment. The inside too has gotten massive changes and now looks more premium and is better equipped to provide comfort.

And of course, the new D-Max also received added safety features like driver assist systems, and more airbags. Remember also that the third-gen D-Max already received a 5-star safety rating from the ASEAN New Car Assessment Program last year.
