Before its official debut, Hyundai has revealed some details regarding the all-new 2021 Hyundai Tucson. The South Korean marque has been testing it thoroughly. So while the new crossover is indeed shaping up to be pretty, it’s also confirmed that it’s one tough crossover.

How tough? Well, Hyundai has put the upcoming Tucson through several rigorous challenges in testing environments located around the world. For starters, it underwent a series of accelerated durability tests and dynamic tests on the Nurburgring. Next up, the new Hyundai crossover also went through public-road testing in several locations in Europe.
While you might think that this is relaxing, some roads cities in Europe are tight, made out of cobblestone, and/or riddled with speed bumps. Another test is hot weather testing in the south of Spain and cold-weather testing in Sweden. And finally, they also made the new Tucson tow a trailer in the Austrian Alps.

When it comes to fine-tuning the Hyundai Tucson in response to those tests, Hyundai did that on a dedicated proving ground located in Czech Republic. There, the Korean carmaker also pitted Tucson through various extreme driving conditions.
These pushed its four-wheel-drive system, torque distribution, torque build-up, electronic parking brake, and clutch controllability to their limits. The Hyundai engineers even drove the Tucson through 300 mm deep water to check if the new model’s underbody covers and wheel guards are doing their jobs.

Currently, the new Hyundai Tucson is undergoing final testing runs. This will further allow Hyundai engineers to use what they’ve learned in the tests to further improve the final production version of the vehicle. This will also ensure that the new Tucson will meet consumer expectations.

The fourth-generation Tucson will make its global debut through a digital launch on September 15, 2020. A teaser video, as well as the live stream of the event itself, will be hosted on Hyundai.com and Hyundai's official social media pages.
