Jaguar’s entry into the premium and competitive executive sports sedan segment, the XE has been engineered to be the most advanced, efficient, and refined sports saloon car the British brand has ever created. It aims to set a new standard among luxury sedans in the market as it exemplifies everything Jaguar is famous for. The XE comes packed with aesthetic enhancements, tech and safety innovations, and a powerful engine. Two variants are offered locally which are the Jaguar XE Prestige and the Jaguar XE R-Sport. Engine options come in either diesel or gasoline, both equipped with the latest Ingenium engineering. The first vehicle in Jaguar’s lineup to employ the Aluminum Intensive Architecture, the XE promises consistent, steady handling and optimal performance in any road condition.
Launch
The Jaguar XE was launched on October 22, 2015 as the company celebrated its 20th year. A fully-updated new-generation model was released in February 2020.

Exterior
The latest generation Jaguar XE went through a series of physical modifications but still applies the aerodynamic design inspired by the F-Type. Its new sleek and modern styling seamlessly blends Jaguar’s signature elegance and sportiness. The sedan carries a muscular stance emphasized by a sculpted bonnet and revamped front and rear bumpers. Sharper headlamps and taillights now come in full-LED’s to illuminate any road. Completing the look are 19-inch alloys.
Interior
The cabin is decked in premium tactile materials and finishes. In true Jaguar fashion, the XE’s interior displays impeccable attention to detail. Its interior is wrapped in perforated, high-quality leather with contrasting white stitching. Touches of matte aluminum further refine the interior aesthetic.
It features a clean, uncluttered layout built with functionality in mind. Consistent with the exterior, the cabin embodies the perfect blend of comfort and sportiness. The intuitive driver-oriented cockpit is comfortably cocooned by its fully-digital dashboard. It is conveniently furnished with easy to reach SportShift Selector, JaguarDrive Control, and Touch Pro Duo controls. Front seats come with 14-way adjustability, suiting every preference.
Technology & Safety Features
The Jaguar XE is equipped with a fleet of innovative developments starting with a 10-inch touchscreen that serves as the navigation and instrument cluster. On the center console is another 5.5-inch LCD screen for the infotainment system that allows wireless charging for smartphones. The entertainment package includes a Meridian 11-speaker surround sound system.
For added convenience and safety, the XE comes with a Head-Up Display which projects key driving information on the windshield. It is also provided with a push start button, keyless entry, and start/stop system.
Safety is always a priority for Jaguar, furnishing the XE with several standard featyres such as a reverse camera, park assist, front and rear parking sensors, Electronic Brake Distribution, Anti-lock Brake System with Emergency Brake Assist, stability control, Lane Departure Warning, and Hill Start Assist.
Platform & Chassis
The 4-door, 5-seater luxury sedan is the first among the new-generation Jaguar line-up to use the Aluminum Intensive Architecture which is a lightweight aluminum body chassis that helps in maintaining consistent power and highly-responsive handling. It is comprised of 75% aluminum, sharing the same platform as the Jaguar F-Pace crossover.
Its sport-tuned suspension is a combination of wishbone front suspension and Integral Link rear suspension. The XE’s stopping power comes from Jaguar’s intelligent Torque Vectoring by Braking technology.
Engine & Drivetrain
There are three modular Ingenium engine options that can be chosen from. First is a 2.0-liter diesel engine which produces 178hp and 428Nm of torque. Another option is a 2.0-liter turbo gasoline engine that spews out 237hp and 340Nm of torque. Finally, a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 gasoline motor that pumps out 335hp and 450Nm of torque. All variants power the rear wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission.
