It is official. The facelifted 2024 Nissan Almera has arrived in the Philippines with better styling and more features than ever before. Now that the new updates are in, Filipino car buyers might have a difficult time familiarizing themselves with what each variant can offer. The 2024 Nissan Almera comes in three variants: EL 1.0 Turbo MT, VE 1.0 Turbo CVT, and the VL 1.0 Turbo CVT.

With that being said, we have listed down the features offered on the four variants of the Japanese subcompact sedan. This way, we can find the Nissan Almera that best suits you.
Nissan Almera Variants: Exterior
Dimensions-wise, the Nissan Almera offers two different sets of numbers. The EL and VE span 4,495 mm in length, 1,740 mm in width, and 1,460 mm in height. On the other hand, the top-spec VL gets the same width and height numbers, with a longer length of 4,530 mm.

Despite the difference in length, the legroom and headroom for all variants should be the same, given the standard wheelbase of 2,620mm across the range. It still welcomes passengers with its best-in-class interior space spearheaded by the outgoing model. Ground clearance for all variants is 135mm.
For exterior equipment, the VL and VE get LED headlamps, LED front fog lamps, and LED daytime running lamps. Both also come with power folding side mirrors. The EL, in turn, gets halogen headlamps and no front fog lamps or DRLs. All three do get the new V-motion grille, door mirror-mounted turn signals, and a rear window defroster.

As for the wheels, there are three kinds offered in the range. The base EL MT uses 15-inch steel wheels, while the VE variants offer lighter 15-inch alloy wheels. Lastly, the VL is equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels.
Nissan Almera Variants: Interior
Moving to the interior, the VL gets the most features out of the three. It is the only variant that comes with a 60:40 split folding rear seat, contrast stitching for the dashboard and black leather seat covers. Both the VE and VL then come with a 12-volt outlet, two USB Type-A ports, and a frameless rearview mirror. All three trims are kitted out with black-colored interiors, a map lamp, and a room lamp.

All variants except the base Almera EL feature the 8-inch Nissan Advanced Touchscreen Display Audio with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth. This system is paired with six speakers for a fuller sound system. Moreover, the VE and VL variants get to benefit from a 7-inch TFT Meter with Integrated Driver-Assist Display and keyless entry.
On the other hand, the base EL comes with a standard audio system with Bluetooth, USB, and Aux. Only four speakers are used in this variant.

The standard Nissan Almera interior amenities include an automatic single-zone air-conditioning system, power door locks, power windows, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, black interior theme, manual day and night rearview mirror, and rear window defroster with timer.
Nissan Almera Variants: Engine & Performance
For the 2024 model, all Almera trims use a 1.0-liter inline-3 turbocharged gasoline engine. It can be coupled to either a 5-speed manual or an XTRONIC Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).
There are two engine power outputs for the Japanese subcompact sedan. The EL MT trim is able to produce 99 hp and 160 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the VE and VL can generate 99 hp and 152 Nm of torque. Also, CVT variants are equipped with an idling stop system to help save more fuel in traffic.
Nissan Almera Variants: Safety
The 2024 Nissan Almera is integrated with the Nissan Intelligent Mobility driver assist suite. This provides the VL and VE variants with Intelligent Around View Monitor (I-AVM) with Moving Object Detection (MOD) and Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (IFCW). Meanwhile, only the top-spec VL gets high beam assist, lane departure warning, rear-cross traffic alert, and blind spot warning.

For standard safety features, the Nissan Almera offers an Anti-Locking Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA), Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), ISOFIX and Tether anchors, alarm and immobilizer, and Hill Start Assist (HSA).
The Almera for the model 2024 also adds the NissanConnect services for the VL model. This includes an SOS emergency call button, a car finder function, theft alert, vehicle health report, remote engine start/stop, remote locking/unlocking, etc.
Nissan Almera Variants: Pricing
Nissan Almera Variants |
Price |
Almera EL 1.0 Turbo MT | Php 839,000 |
Almera VE 1.0 Turbo CVT | Php 1,059,000 |
Almera VL 1.0 Turbo CVT | Php 1,149,000 |
Nissan Almera Variants: Conclusion
Needless to say, the facelifted Almera VL is great for buyers that are particularly mindful of driving safety. For crash safety, performance, and features though, the VE is still up to par with its upscale equivalent.
If you're serious about getting this sedan, better give it a test drive
Those looking for the most affordable version though, should obviously lean towards the EL. It doesn't get the number of gadgets as the VE and moreso the VL, but what it has should be sufficient if what you're after is a no non-sense daily ride. That is if you don't mind rowing gears since the EL is only offered with a manual.
