The subcompact sedan segment in the Philippines is starting to heat up once again as Nissan Philippines revealed that it will be launching the facelifted Almera on July 10, 2023. The Almera’s PH launch is three days ahead of the official arrival of the refreshed Honda City.
The facelifted Nissan Almera
Unlike Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI), Nissan Philippines has not shared any specs about the refreshed Almera. But, the said vehicle debuted in Thailand last May, which could give us an idea of what to expect with the upcoming PH-spec 2024 Nissan Almera.
The new Nissan Almera features a refreshed styling, which is most noticeable on its front fascia. It comes with Nissan’s next-generation V-Motion grille that looks bolder and more assertive. Meanwhile, the side and rear exterior look similar to the outgoing model, which is expected since this version is the facelifted Almera.
It still has the familiar rear design
But back in Thailand, the Almera is made available with a new exterior color called Gray Sky Pearl, which is said to shift hues at different times of the day. It also changes color depending on what angle you look at the car.
Inside, the top-spec 2024 Nissan Almera VL in Thailand comes with a two-tone interior theme of black and blue. The overall layout is similar to the outgoing model with minor design updates seen on the door panels and seats. In addition, the Thai-spec Nissan Almera comes with a wireless mobile phone charger and cruise control.

Based on the information revealed by Nissan Philippines, the facelifted 2024 Almera will come with Nissan Connect Services. It’s a smartphone app that allows users to remotely lock or unlock the car, view driving history, and locate the car, among others. Nissan Thailand said that the app can also call emergency services when the SOS button is pressed, which is located near the Almera’s rearview mirror.
Powering the vehicle is the same 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that delivers 98 horsepower and 152 Nm of torque. The engine is connected to a continuously variable transmission (CVT), and power is sent to the front wheels.
The official PH debut will be on July 10, 3 p.m.
