Which 2024 Ford Everest variant should you buy? [Comparison Guide]

Updated Mar 01, 2024

This Ford mid-size SUV has four available variants.

Ford’s long-running Everest nameplate gains a third generation, which has now arrived in the Philippines along with its Ranger pickup platform twin. To say that the midsize SUV is a step up from its predecessor is an understatement, especially when it comes to physical dimensions.

Ford is turning up the heat in the midsize SUV wars with the next-generation Everest

Yet size is just one part of what makes the next-generation Everest a potential winner for the Blue Oval brand. Let’s look at what each of its five trim levels has to offer for prospective buyers.

Ford Everest variants: Exterior

The new Everest beats the outgoing model in terms of measurements, with the most common upgrade being the width, gaining 339mm in the process. This is emphasized by the restyled fascia, with squarish headlamps at either end bisected by a more imposing honeycomb mesh grille.

That new fascia is striking and emphasizes the new model's wider stance

On the Trend, the intake is rendered in body color, turning into gloss black for the Everest Sport. On the Titanium+ 4x2 and 4x4, chrome is the finish of choice. Most of the Everest range have standard LED headlamps, save for the range-topping Titanium+ 4x4 that comes equipped with matrix LEDs, augmented by an Advanced Front Lighting System.

Yes, that grille also comes in black on the Everest Sport

All headlamps come with signature C-shaped daytime running lights, accompanied by front and rear fog lamps. Variable intermittent wipers, side steps, and roof rails are standard. While every Everest has power-folding exterior mirrors, only the Titanium+ trims feature puddle lamps. Dual front and rear tow hooks are offered by default.

A power tailgate is standard on most of the Everest lineup

The tailgate on the Trend is manually operated, while those on the rest are equipped with a power function, augmented by a hands-free feature on the Sport and Titanium+. A panoramic moonroof is also exclusive to the Titanium+. The Trend rolls on 18-inch alloy wheels, while the Sport and Titanium+ come with 20-inch alloys.

Ford Everest variants: Interior

Access to the cabin on all trim levels is through smart keyless entry. Leather seating for up to seven occupants is standard across the range. Eight-way power seat adjustment for both the driver and front passenger is also offered on most trims, except for the Trend which has four-way manual adjustment for the shotgun seat.

All Everest trim levels get a digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment unit

The second-row bench split-folds 60:40, while the third row is folded manually except on the Titanium+ 4x4 which brings power-folding rearmost seats. While all Everest units come with a leather steering wheel, an 8-inch digital cluster screen is standard from the Trend to the Titanium+ 4x2, upsized to 12 inches on the Titanium+ 4x4.

A single-zone manual air-conditioning unit is the default offering on the Trend, with a dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control on the rest. The Trend and Sport trims come with a 10-inch colored touchscreen head unit with SYNC 4A supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, upsized to 12 inches on the Titanium+ while accompanied by Enhanced Voice Recognition.

The increased dimensions benefit passenger and cargo space

The Trend features three 12-volt power outlets, while the rest of the range has four. Only the Titanium+ 4x2 and 4x4 trim levels come with the 230-volt inverter. While the Trend has dual USB ports on the first row, the other trim levels double this number by adding a set on the second row, accompanied by a dedicated port on the windshield for powering dashcams.

Ford Everest variants: Engine & Performance

A 2.0-liter turbocharged common-rail diesel engine is the default power unit for the Philippine release of the new Everest. On the Trend, Sport, and Titanium+ 4x2, it supplies 168 horsepower and 405 Nm of torque to the rear wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The new Everest line has the same engine options as the outgoing model

Meanwhile, the Titanium+ 4x4 runs on a more powerful 2.0-liter bi-turbo version rated at 207 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, spinning all four wheels with a 10-speed automatic gearbox. This trim level is also the only one with an electronic locking rear differential. Electric power steering is standard on all variants.

Ford Everest variants: Safety

Most Everest units come with standard cruise control, while the Titanium+ 4x4 offers adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go and Lane Centering. Parking sensors, ISOFix anchor points, hill launch assist with rollover mitigation, and an adjustable speed limiter are standard equipment.

Only the Trend, Sport, and Titanium+ 4x2 are equipped with a rear camera, as the Titanium+ 4x4 has a more extensive 360-degree camera system. Not only that, but the flagship Everest trim also has a complete array of safety features including Dynamic Brake Support, Forward Collision Warning, Evasive Steer Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, and a tire pressure monitor.

Ford Everest variants: Conclusion

There’s a lot to take in where the next-generation Ford Everest is concerned, and that’s good news for buyers who are either dipping their feet into SUVs for the first time or are looking to upgrade from the previous model. The king of the hill is obviously the Titanium+ 4x4 with all the bells and whistles.

Buyers will have another solid choice in the midsize SUV segment

However, not everyone might have a use for all-wheel drive, and those looking for a robust people carrier may find the Trend trim level already more than enough for their needs. In terms of added convenience, the Sport 4x2 might be an ideal compromise with its power tailgates, dual-zone temperature controls, and connectivity options.
