The 2023 BMW 7 Series is the brand's full-size luxury sedan. Globally, the German automaker has already unveiled the all-new seventh-gen 7 Series last April 2022. But in the Philippines, the sixth-gen model is available in one variant which is priced at Php 5,990,000. Powering this vehicle is a 2.0-liter inline-4 turbocharged gasoline engine with 265 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. As standard, the engine uses an 8-speed automatic transmission.
DImensions-wise, the 7 Series is 5,120 mm long, 1,902 mm wide, and 1,467 mm high, with a wheelbase rated at 3,070 mm. Locally, this German full-size luxury sedan is competing against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Lexus LS, and Audi A8.
Launch
The first-ever BMW 7-Series was introduced globally in 1977. After five generations, the nameplate was launched in the Philippines in July 2008. Offered in the market at present is the sixth generation, facelifted 7-Series which was formally released in August 2020.

The BMW 7-Series recently received a facelift with stronger details without compromising the sedan’s timeless elegance. The most obvious update is larger kidney grille which is flanked by sharper adaptive LED headlights. Its sides get reshaped lower chrome trims with Laserlight that leads seamlessly to the rear. The currently more angular bumper is decked with three-dimensional LED taillights to complete the luxury sedan’s stylish yet functional premium aesthetic.
Riding on 18-inch alloys is the sole variant, 730i Pure Excellence.
BMW 7-Series Interior
BMW’s sophistication and comfort concept extend to the elegantly styled interior which features the finest leather upholstery and premium wood trim pieces. The German brand’s masterful craftmanship is displayed from the finishes to the smallest details. All seats are wrapped in leather equipped with electric adjustability.
More leather is displayed on the fully-clad instrument panel accentuated by Poplar Grain metallic high-gloss. It is furnished with four-zone climate control as standard.
Technology & Safety Features
The BMW 7-Series comes with a wide range of tech and entertainment systems. It features 10-inch full high definition touchscreens with one at the rear, and a tablet that allows passengers to control the entertainment system. The system comes navigation-ready and Bluetooth connectivity. Audio comes out of a 16-speaker stereo.
In coherence to the brand’s commitment to utmost comfort and luxury, the 7-Series is equipped with the latest BMW Touch Command and BMW Gesture Control technologies that enables the driver to manage the vehicle’s safety and infotainment systems through a simple motion.
Among the new and elevated safety features of the 7-Series is the Display Key which provides information on the status of the vehicle. It has an LCD screen that enables the holder to control the sedan’s central locking system, windows, and panorama roof even from a distance. The key also shows fuel levels and other service notifications.
Standard safety technology incorporated in the 7-Series are the Anti-lock Brake System, stability control, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, push start button, keyless entry, and tire pressure monitoring.
BMW 7-Series Platform & Chassis
The four-door sedan’s suspension comes in the form of Independent double-wishbone in front and independent multi-link at the rear. Stopping power comes from disc brakes all around, much like majority of BMW vehicles in the brand’s current lineup.
BMW 7-Series Engine & Drivetrain
A 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 gasoline engine is used for the sole 730i, producing 265 hp and 400 Nm of torque. Only an 8-speed automatic transmission is available.
