The car brand’s subcompact crossover entry now comes with even more striking design details thanks to updates both in the exterior and interior. Also, the updated version is looking to make its name known in its respective segment with the integration of advanced driver assistance features.

Let’s take a look at what the 2022 Changan CS35 Plus can offer in the local market.

Exterior

One of the most noticeable changes in the 2022 Changan CS35 Plus is the new lighting system. It now comes with full-width LED daytime running lights (DRLs) at the front, as well as full-width rear tail lamps. The sporty-looking red accents similar to the Changan CS75 Plus have found their way into the facelifted CS35 Plus.

It is available in Wunderlust White, Timber Wolf Gray, and Draco Red

A set of 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels are installed, providing a sleek appearance. And at the back, the subcompact crossover gets an LED high mount stop lamp, shark fin antenna, and functional dual stainless exhaust pipes. Overall, the design got sportier and more aggressive, making it more appealing in the market, especially for young car buyers.

Interior

The glaring sporty aesthetics of the exterior are continued into the interior. Passengers get to benefit from two-tone leather seats which are said to be “crafted with firm, body-supporting foam.” Changan boasts the use of Deep Sea Silence Technology which effectively isolates and absorbs exterior noise.

A 10-inch touchscreen display is still used to provide entertainment on the road. But thanks to the redesigned dashboard, the touchscreen now has a floating-type finish. Other interior amenities include a panoramic sunroof, a wireless charging pad, rear A/C vents for higher-end variants, and a digital instrument display.

Tech & Safety

For the 2022 model, the CS35 Plus is equipped with a ‘Safe-tech System’. It provides advanced driver assistance features including Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), and Front Collision Warning (FCW). The vehicle comes with a built-in radar and cameras to enable the said systems.

A more immersive drive

Speaking of cameras, a panoramic camera system has been made available, offering a 2D and 3D visibility of the vehicle’s surroundings. When the camera detects possible danger, a video recording in HD quality starts rolling. In the event of an accident, the model is installed with six airbags.

Engine & Performance

Under the hood, the 1.4-liter turbocharged inline-4 gasoline engine has been carried over. But this time, the engine makes more power at 160 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque. This means that the facelifted version has four horsepower and 25 Nm of torque more than the outgoing model.

2022 is looking bright for Changan's subcompact crossover

The engine is connected to a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (DCT), which ensures a comfortable drive by smoothly shifting gears. A total of three driving modes are installed, namely the “Sport” for more spirited driving, the “Comfortable” for lighter steering control, and “Standard” for the ideal daily driving configuration.
